Programming in COBOL: Introduction and Workshop

was developed to provide the basic understanding of the language and to enable the participants to create application programs in a COBOL environment.

Participants:

This course is intended for trainee application developers with little or no experience in COBOL programming.

Prerequisites:

There are no special prerequisites to this class, except that the participants should have basic understanding of data processing and possibly knowledge in another programming language

Objectives:

At completion of the course the participants will know the the COBOL statements that are defined in the COBOL 85 standard, and will know how to use them in business application programming

Many practical exercises using a modern COBOL compiler
