In recent years many additions have been made to the COBOL standard, and even more new features are going to be in the next standard. Some of these are already available in IBM's latest COBOL compiler product, Enterprise COBOL for z/OS (COBOL Version 3). The programming workshop

COBOL Power Programming

was developed for the COBOL programmer with basic knowledge about the COBOL programming language. It is also intended for programmers that learned their trade with OS/VS COBOL (COBOL 74) and want to learn about the new features of COBOL available in the newest compilers.

Prerequisites:

Course Programming in COBOL: Introduction and Workshop or equivalent experience

Objectives:

At completion of the course the participants will know the advanced functions and statements as implemented into the IBM COBOL compilers
